Supplementary information

Called "the heart of darkness" by Belgian colonists, Dekese remains isolated to this day, without cars or other means of communication. 196,000 inhabitants live and die there in extreme poverty every day. The project will last 8 weeks for 4 volunteers collaborating solely by mail. We will put at your disposal the final version of the project as well as any documents on the territory.

Context

The properties of Jatropha cursas, a wild plant found in the forests of Dekese, offers a new opportunity to improve the lives of child soldiers and women subjected to sexual violence. This poor territory, which hasn't yet entered into the Age of the Automobile, is suffocating and seeing it inhabitants die off slowly for lack of access to basic health care. This project fits in with our strategy to rehabilitate child soldiers and reintroduce them to society.
Bergier, Jean-Francois. Geneve: Editions Zoe, 1992. (21) “Is it a paradox to assert that, without the mountain, Switzerland would not exist?” The Alps are considered at once a barrier and a point of convergence, a passage. This unique situation offered the Swiss a unique culture (the Austrians were facing a similar situation with their mountains).
(21) Trans-alpine transportation innovations are present at every point in Switzerland’s slow movement towards Europe: the opening of the Gotthard in the 13th century, and the major tunnel constructions between 1860-1900.
Chapter Two: Identity. The European thought.
(37-8) Before the Renaissance, the idea behind a unified Europe was based more on religious unity, or unity through Christianity/ belief systems. It was only after the Renaissance that unification began to be considered in terms of territorial possession.
(43-4) Between the 13th and 14th centuries, political territories were beginning to be formed through loyalty to a prince or royal throne. Surrounding Switzerland was a number of small kingdoms: France, Germany, Spain, England. Closer to their borders, smaller territories were formed: Provence and Savoy, the Rhineland. The three major valleys of central Switzerland formed a league then, “from which it gets its original resistance to the idea of the modern territorial State, and a refusal to make any one regional authority the government of an entire State.”

A biztonságot jelentő svájci frank árfolyama délután már 244 forint felett járt, márpedig a menedékvaluta erősödése a dollár iránti bizalmatlanság legfőbb jele. By afternoon, the exchange rate of the Swiss franc, a currency of refuge, was already above 244 forints [about $1.3]. Its rapid appreciation is a central indicator of distrust toward the dollar. The judgment of the market is clear: The past month’s political bickering over the debt ceiling resulted in a huge loss of confidence in the United States. Republicans and Democrats, having found $2.5 trillion in cuts, with the same stroke of a pen will raise the debt limit by another $2.1 trillion. The high-stakes wagering didn't even touch on a long-term solution. Rather, it was all about which party would be able to pass on responsibility for taking tough new austerity measures after the 2012 presidential election.
Let us take a deep breath and try to remember that not long ago, something very similar happened in Hungary. First, we were punished (in politically-correct terms, a “negative outlook” for Hungary debt was registered) by the same S&P's. And Hungary was already under a microscope from across the Atlantic - which doesn't help given the recent rating agency events. In order to really drive the message home, Moody's helped out a little as well by slashing Hungary's credit rating (the two make up 85 percent of the global credit rating market!). By chance, the timing was perfect: Hungary's credit worthiness was lowered just as the IMF auditor - following up on the 2008 IMF emergency loan to Hungary - was arriving in Budapest.
