I'm Carolyn Yohn, the principal translator for untangled translations. In early 2013, my colleagues in the National Capital Area Translators Association elected me as Secretary of the NCATA Board of Directors. I am also a member of the American Translators Association and an associate (non-lawyer) member of the American Bar Association. I completed a Certificate in Translation with New York University's School of Continuing and Professional Studies in December 2012. The University of Virginia granted me a Bachelor of the Arts degree in French, with special focus on theories of international development and politics.

rates and terms

Each project is assessed individually to determine pricing. For a non-binding, free quote on your task, send a scanned copy of the document or file along with required deadline and other pertinent details to carolyn@untangledtranslations.com. For a general idea, download the untangled translations 2013 rates chart here.

Translation of official documents, such as birth certificates, is provided at a per-page rate and for use in the US only. A certified translation (which includes a signed, notarized statement from the translator attesting to the accuracy of the translation) can be provided for the per-page rate plus $30.

When determining the deadline for your translation, keep in mind that my capacity depends greatly upon your content. On average, I can translate 1,500 to 2,200 words per day, and up to 12,000 words per week. Terminology research is important for the quality of my work, so more advanced texts will take longer.
